Fossil Ridge High School’s “You Can’t Take It With You”

Just a quick note- a sneak peek & the gallery for Fossil Ridge High School’s play “You Can’t Take It With You” will be up and available by Wednesday. Photo CD’s of the production will also be available for purchase. They did a wonderful job! You still have a chance to see it tonight at 7pm.

The Winterling

Paragon Theatre’s latest production, The Winterling, opens this Saturday (at Crossroads Theatre in Denver). I was excited to photograph this one- it has such a good combination of emotions, the set was gorgeous and it was full of suprises. Just when I thought I had it figured out,  something would happen to change my mind.

Go out and see this one- you will enjoy it (and support a great theatre in the process).

Old Times

Theatre photography is one of my favorite things to photograph- every production is different. You can take the same play and see it at ten different theatre companies and it will always  be a little different each time. There are always different challenges with each play I photograph.

This one- Old Times at Paragon Theatre, was a challenge because so much happens internally within the characters. There is not a lot of physical movement, but there is a lot of emotional & mental movement. It was a pleasure to photograph & to see new & familiar faces. : ) Old Times opens this weekend at Crossroads Theatre in Denver.

Paragon Theatre Bus Stop

Paragon Theatre’s newest production is “Bus Stop” and opens this weekend. I know I say this every time I photograph a play, but I really loved this one! What an amazing, talented cast! As with all the arts, there is always so much more that goes on before the production and in the background… it takes so many more people and/or hours than you would ever think.

I think my favorite part of this play is how very real it seems. The characters all seem like they could be someone you meet on a street… or stuck in a diner due to the weather. They are all so much more complicated beings than you see at first glance. ;)

Bus Stop runs through June 6th. Check out Paragon Theatre for more info: http://www.paragontheatre.org/busstop.php

Bye Bye Birdie

Bye Bye Birdie- Fossil Ridge High School

Fossil Ridge High School’s spring musical is this week. They have done a fantastic job with Bye Bye Birdie. I don’t get to photograph musicals very often, so when I do, its a nice treat (way back a long time ago, I spent my entire school years in music…). I had to try really hard not to sing along with them. I really enjoy photographing FRHS’s shows, I am always welcomed by everyone, and the cast and crew are always so much fun to capture.

Bye Bye Birdie is at FRHS this week (April 16, 17, 18th at 7pm)- take an evening out and go see it! :)

Here is a sneak peek of the shots, I will have the gallery up by the end of this week (CD’s are available to purchase also!). Have a great day!

Love Song

Paragon Theatre’s first production for 2009 is “Love Song”. It is brilliant and I had such a blast photographing it. I have loved all of the plays I have photographed, but I really just loved this one. I can’t really put my finger on it…but it just really clicked for me. Such fun! Dramatic, funny, and so very much what you come to expect from Paragon. :)

Love Song opens this weekend. You MUST go see this. Take a friend, take a significant other, or even go by yourself, you will enjoy it!

On to the sneak peek!

The Miracle Worker

The Miracle Worker (Fossil Ridge High School’s latest production) gallery is up! You can view all the photos and purchase the CD here: http://etylerphotography.com/blog/fossil-ridge-high-school/

They did a BEAUTIFUL job with this play, I was honored to be asked to photograph it. Here are a couple of my favorites:

The Glass Menagerie

Paragon Theatre opens on Saturday with The Glass Menagerie. You can read more about it and purchase tickets here: http://www.paragontheatre.org/theglassmenagerie.php

An absolute must see… tremendous performances all around! I am not a theatre critic,  but I have seen my share of productions. This one definitely hits my top list of must see performances. I found myself sympathetic to all the characters, even when I was frustrated with them.  Go see it!!

For my fellow photographers who peek in here from time to time, all of these were taken at no lower ISO than 1600 and most of them are at ISO 3200. I may be more in love with my camera than I was before. ;)

Headshot Overload

The last few weeks I have been super busy with headshots for actors. What a fun (and talented!) group of people I’ve gotten to meet.

The headshot special is going until Nov. 1st and I am currently booking for October.

Here are just a few (click on them to see full size):
