Fall is pretty much a photographer’s dream…at least around these parts. Who could argue with these?

Amid the craziness, I got to go down to Paragon Theatre again for their new show (W)hole. One of the coolest things about this play is it was written by a Denver playright, Tracy Shaffer. Photographing a play is one of my most favorite parts about this job. I am in control of nothing… lighting, movements, posing, facial expressions… and most of the time I go into a play not ever having read it before. So I know nothing. When it is an “on” night, when all of the pieces click together… the actors, the stage, even my own mood, I find something magical happens. This magic can’t happen every time I photograph a play unfortunately. Like music, not every song can be a hit (although I still enjoy every show I photograph!). So when this magic happens, I revel in it and hope that what I am seeing and feeling translates through the camera.
This play was hands down my favorite one to shoot this year. I hope that my final product shows that. Regardless, this is a must see show for this fall, and it opens tomorrow (Saturday, October 23rd). It is a very adult show, but if you go, I promise you’ll go on a journey of your own along with the characters. I have been so bad lately about posting. It has been a busy, chaotic last few months! We are in the middle of some home improvement projects, brought on by a couple of home disasters involving water (let’s just say our dishwasher AND our water heater leaked water all over…within two months of each other). While I love doing home improvement, I do NOT like needing to do them because of a disaster!
Along with that, if you haven’t noticed, it is fall! Which means even though I am not taking clients, I have had quite a few friends & family sessions and theatre shoots. If you are one of those patient souls waiting for your gallery, I will have them up as soon as possible!
The next couple weeks I will be posting some sneak peeks. Most of them are up on my facebook page…if you are on facebook, be sure to become a fan. Enough talking! On with the photos!

Last night I had the priviledge of photographing Paragon Theatre’s The Real Thing. It was such an enjoyable play!! It opens this weekend- for more info check out http://www.paragontheatre.org/index.php

This has been such a crazy summer, it will be over before I know it. Here are a few peeks at what I’ve been up to lately!

If these kids look familiar it’s because they are! We did a quick family shoot while we were on vacation. My niece was able to join us for a few days so we couldn’t resist getting some of the cousins together.

and because Papa is their favorite piggy-back ride giver:

A quick note- I am on vacation from July 1-11th and will have limited access to email. If you try to contact me or place an order during this time, please know I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you!
and because it wouldn’t be right to leave you without a sneak peek:
